How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?

Setting goals for myself for where I want to be, and just reminding myself that in order to achieve those goals, you have to be willing to put in the world and do the hard yards. Even the smallest steps are a win!

Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?

To help calm my nerves before a race I love to chat to people, I am always wanting to start a conversation with people and I think it has helped me get to know so many amazing people through this sport as well.
I don't really have any rituals, but I can sometimes find myself as a superstitious person, and if something works for me I stick with it.
I also love to race with a ring on that my parents gave me to remind myself that when I am struggling in a race I'm not alone and I have others to help me push through!

Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?

My most memorable moment would probably have to be when I crossed the line in 3rd in the u/15 surf race at Aussies, and instantly all my friends from other states came up and gave me the biggest hug.
Being from Victoria where the sport isn't as big, I felt so much love and support that day and I am externally grateful for all the amazing people that this sport has brought me, and it's honestly a moment I will never forget!

Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?

One achievement that I am very proud of is when I was fortunate enough to represent Australia at 2 international competitions in 2023 for Pool rescue. The team environment is something that was so special and I was able to learn so much racing overseas!

Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?

Outside of lifesaving, I love to give back to the community as much as possible, I love coaching the nippers and just doing things to help people!

How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?

As a young athlete, I am still trying to figure this out! But I think the most important thing is to remain organized, by planning out when I have time to do things it helps me be less stressed and find time to wind down and focus on the things outside of sport that make me happy.

What are your top 3 ENGINE products (either for racing or training)?

Picking just 3 products is so hard because I love them all!

But my top favs are:

1. The Santorini bathers - I'm sure these are most people's favs because of how comfy they are and how well they fit everyone, but a close second to the Santorini's would have to be the Brazilian Edge because of how tight fitting they are, and stylish!!

2. The Classic Puffer Jackets, being in Victoria it is always so cold at comps, and the long line puffer jacket helps me stay very warm so that I am ready to race!!

3. The goggles, I love the weapons for training because of how clear and comfy they are, and I love the bullets for pool racing because I know that no matter what they are staying on! Engine for sure have the best goggles for any occasion!!
