How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?

My motivation derives from both my passion for the sport and desire to bring pride to my family and younger self. Even when the option to make excuses is there, knowing that pushing myself hard in training makes it easier to perform on race day is what makes me strive for the '1%ers', as training habits are reflected in results.

Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?

I always race my best when I am having fun behind the blocks and excited to race, therefore chatting with friends, fuelling well and listening to music is personally the way to go.

Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?

My most memorable moment was my last race with my team of 6 years, however. my most defining moments lie not in my successes but my moments of disappointment where I am presented with the opportunity to grow.

Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?

My first age nationals was certainly a milestone that both taught me how to manage a high-stakes environment and inspired me to thrive in an environment where I was surrounded by athletes with mutual passions and aspirations.

Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?

I love performing music and can play piano, guitar and sing! Netball is my second favourite sport after swimming as I love to defend and work with my team. I am also invested in nutrition and cooking and aim to follow a career path in sports nutrition one day.

How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?

I am a boarding student, therefore squeezing training, school, additional study, meal times, sleep and organisation into each day doesn't leave me with much time for additional activities, however, a lot of the things I love doing are included in my routine anyways!

What are your top 3 ENGINE products (either for racing or training)?

The Engine Activewear never disappoints, especially the Ultra Lux sets. My favourite swimmers are Santorinis and Brazilias, no matter how many pairs I add to my collection I can never seem to get enough! As for goggles, my go-to for both training and competing are the bullets. You simply can't go wrong with them, I have every style on rotation!
