How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?

I think that having a set of goals is the most important thing in keeping me motivated. Its just like having a time to achieve or a comp to qualify for or even a person to beat. Because whenever I feel down or tired or just like I cant be bothered I remember the goals and know that I have to keep going to achieve them.

Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?

I try not to think about my race too much as to not overthink it but once I get behind the blocks, with my cap and goggles on, I stare down the pool and look at the end knowing that its my destination.

Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?

My most memorable moment when I got my first national time for the 400 Free. I had been working really hard and it had been my goal for ages and I had just missed the time in the heats of this competition. So it was finals night and I was still tired from my swim in the morning but I knew it was one of my last opportunities to make the time. I can barely remember the race but I just remember getting out of the pool and seeing how excited my coach was that I had finally qualified after all of the work we had put in.
