How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?

Training is an outlet for me outside working on the tools everyday and creates goals outside of work. I am lucky to have some great mates that I get to train with and lean on to get better which makes me always want to come back and get better everyday.

Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?

Something I'm still working on, but my best races have come from being in my most relaxed and chilled state, weather that's having a laugh with my mates and just not overthinking the task ahead and only worrying about what you can control.

Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?

Winning the u19 Australian iron man title is definitely my favourite win. Had a fair few hiccups on the way to that Aussies and also hadn't found myself individually on a podium for a long time so was super stoked on that one.

Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?

Winning my first ever QLD state title in the u15 board race. Confidence grew and definitely made me work harder to get that winning feeling again.

Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?

Surfing, playing the PlayStation with the boys and I'm mad broncos supporter.

How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?

For the past 4 years working on the tools and training has been a huge challenge mentally and physically. Definitely have a bad weeks but I've gotten better at knowing what I need to do which is the best for me to be ready for race day so having a session off to recover to get back ready for the next day or week has been a huge part of balancing my training schedule. I also try to sometimes take a step back and have a more quality of quantity mindset towards training to stay on the right track for my goals.

What are your top 3 ENGINE products (either for racing or training)?

Froth the club cuts, wear them every morning in the pool. Engine rashie top is a go to, I wear it every board and ski session and for sun safety on race day is a must. Iron jammers for race day, no better feeling then throwing a fresh pair of iron jammers on.
