How do you stay motivated and push yourself in training?

Goal setting at the start of the season and always having a target in my mind of where I want to be and what I want to achieve, pushes me to be my best.

Many athletes have pre-game rituals that help them get into the zone. What are some of your personal pre-game rituals or routines that you believe help you get in the zone before hitting the beach or pool?

Nothing specific, however I like to stretch the night before to feel loose before bed. I also like to make sure I am in a relaxed mindset leading up to the race or the competition.

Reflecting on your career so far, what would you consider as the most memorable or defining moment?

Winning the u19 single ski and double ski in 2023 at the Aussies was a really defining moment for me as it was my first Australian medal. Another memorable moment was finishing 6th in the K1 1000m at the Junior World Championships for sprint kayaking in 2022 as it really kickstarted my paddling career and really made me come back wanting more.

Are there any specific achievements or milestones that you are particularly proud of and that you feel have significantly impacted your journey as an athlete?

There has been lots of results, both good and bad ones that have impacted my journey, the win in the u19 ski at Aussies in 2023 was a very exciting milestone as it was my first individual Aussie medal and demonstrated that hard work does pay off. The bad results although suck at the time, have encouraged me to work harder and make me want more every session and every race.

Beyond your athletic pursuits, do you have any hobbies or passions that might surprise people?

Like most clubbies I love surfing and a fair bit of fishing when on holidays, I like to chill out on the PlayStation and I also study part time at university doing a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology.

How do you balance your intense training and competition schedule with personal interests outside of your sport?

The balance is made easier when you are doing what you love with your best mates. Other then that, I am pretty easy going, whenever I have some free time I will always try and go do something whether it be surfing, driving around with mates or just find a way to chill out, watching TV or on the Playstation.

What are your top 3 ENGINE products (either for racing or training)?

1. Iron Jammer 3 (royal blue colour is insane), just really comfortable and are high performance.

2. Club cuts as I wear them so often and they are super comfortable.

3. Puffer Jacket, perfect for cold and windy days on the beach as well as something that I can wear every day when I am out.
